Probability and Poker (part 1)
In most American films that I saw, Poker is one of the most popular games that the boyar elite usually plays in casinos. I was attracted to how people behave in poker games: how their eyes showed their real thoughts or maybe how they talk to distract their opponents, so I was attracted to this game. We also create mini-games of poker in the class where instead of using money (gambling is illegal we all know that), each has 50 points and then the points are subtracted as you lose.
Poker is a card game whose rules vary depending on different places. In my class, the first round of betting begins with one person and then goes in a clock-wise direction. Each person has a choice to raise their bet or to “call” or fold (which means they will lose the points that are bet in the previous betting round). That is how this bet works.
Let’s go and find out how the card works: Each person is given 2 cards and after the betting round when everyone calls, the first card is revealed. The process continues until all 5 cards are revealed.
You can have a quick review about the rules. But the most attractive things that poker have apart from the mind game is the probability behind all these cards, something I would mention in the next article.
