The Pi Number
The Pi number
Pi is certainly one of the most famous numbers in Math history. It is a constant that has an approximate value of 3.1416 and appears in every field from Math to Physics. It is a irrational number, and it is usually approximated in secondary school or high school problems by the fraction 22/7. By 2019, using complex calculations, Google has confirmed that this firm was able to compute Pi to over 31.4 trillion decimal places, setting a new World Record.

Pi can be used by using calculus as an arc length of a semicircle of radius 1:

Or using calculus, infinite series specifically, we can estimate pi to our daily familiar numbers:
If x=1, we'll got the inverse tan of 1 will equal to pi over 4 or:
First recorded way to approximate Pi was using inscribed and circumscribed circle:
Later, mathematicians divided the circle into slices and used limit to approximate best Pi:
Apart from that, Pi is also developed to a new field called Piphilology, where people practice memorizing Pi digits. The record is now kept by Rajveer Meena, who can memorize up to 70,000 digits. There are some other interesting facts about Pi as it is also used in literature, where word lengths each represents the Pi digit. This is called constrained writing. One of the most famous books that follows this type of writing is: "Not a Wake", which contains 10000 words.
